Reon Tay

About me

Reon is blessed with a wonderful wife, Rosemary, and three lovely children: Joash, Danielle, and Eliscia. A lifelong athlete, he has a passion for sports that spans a wide array of disciplines; he has competed in everything from badminton, basketball, canoeing, and dragon boat to tchoukball, ultimate frisbee, and lacrosse.

After graduating from university, Reon felt a profound calling to enter full-time ministry. Having a great passion for youth and sports — and having received Christ through the indirect influence of his basketball coach during secondary school — he began exploring the specific field of sports ministry. Following three successful years as a computer engineer, Reon heeded God’s call in 2006, transitioning from the tech industry into full-time sports ministry.

Through Sports Net, Reon is driven by a vision to see the people of sports actively making disciples in every sporting community. He seeks to unite Christian sportspeople, inspiring and equipping them to embrace God's calling within their spheres of influence and sending them out to transform the sporting world — wherever they are placed — empowered by the Holy Spirit.
